Technology workers in Britain get paid 36% more than the national average salary, according to data published by government-backed Tech City UK in its latest Tech Nation report.

There were over one million jobs advertised in the digital economy for the first 9 months of 2015 and the average advertised salary for these roles was just under £50,000, according to Burning Glass data cited by Tech City UK.

The average national salary is £27,600, according to the latest national figures.

London ranks above the average at £58,978, but you don’t have to be in the country’s capital to find a high-paying tech job. We’ve highlighted the 19 best-paying tech hubs in Britain, from Dundee in North East Scotland to Exeter in South West England.

The numbers in parentheses are the advertised digital salaries for the top 19 Tech Nation clusters (not including London), as ranked by Tech City UK.
